TIPA's statement:
The JVC Everio GZ-HD7 is a consumer-level High Definition 3-CCD camcorder capable of shooting and recording full HD images (1920x1080i). Because JVC's pixel-shift system uses progressive scan CCDs, signals are processed first as 1920x1080p progressive signals, then converted to 1920x1080i interlace signals for recording. As a result, the system records a higher resolution HD image than an interline (IL) CCD system. To accentuate the image quality, the GZ-HD7 features a Fujinon lens normally used in broadcast video cameras, and this is the first time such a lens has been used in a consumer camcorder.
